Harold Glen Bryson

Harold Glen Bryson was born on March 14th, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant, TX, to Ida Mae Johnson and Sylvester Bryson. He grew up in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, and attended Booker T. Washington High School. Harold is a graduate of Booker T. Washington, class of 1965.
After graduation, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served his country from 1968 to 1971. After receiving an Honorable Discharge in 1971, he moved to Dallas. Being raised in a God-fearing home, he accepted Christ at an early age. He attended Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Mt. Pleasant, Texas.
On January 22nd, 1977, he married Ethel Bryson, his devoted wife, friend, and prayer partner in life for 47 years. Together, they raised a total of 6 children. Harold was a Christian man with a pleasing and serving attitude. He singlehandedly served his community as a self-employed electrician from 1979 to 2022. His colleagues would describe his work ethic as enviable. His love and support for the Cowboys was bountiful, yet his family was cherished.
He was preceded in death by Ida Mae Johnson (Mother), Sylvester Bryson (Father), Melma Brown (Sister), Trubie Gipson (Sister), Virgene Brown (Sister), Barbara Sue Jackson (Sister), Hazel Bryson (Sister), C.J. Brown (Brother), Charles Bryson (Brother), Billy Bryson (Brother), Paul Bryson (Brother), and two children: Wendy Johnson (Daughter) and Eric Johnson (Son).
To celebrate his life and cherish his memories, Harold is survived by: Wife, Ethel; Son, Alvin (Stephanie); Daughter, Gala; Daughter, Rachel; Daughter, Penny (Jerry); 18 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; Sister-in-law, Sharmane Bryson; Sister-inlaw, Ovella Davis; Sister-in-law, Esther Davis; Sister-in-law, Norma Gassaway; and a host of friends.
Each day of his life, Harold was a peacemaker who added a bright and flowing touch to the people who knew the kind deeds he did were from his heart. Because of his dedication, diligent hard work, and love for the community, this world is a nicer place to live.
