Harold Dean Burris, age 73, of Oakley, was born in Gove County on April 27, 1948. He passed away peacefully in his home on December 20, 2021. Harold was a kind man who liked to visit friends and family. He enjoyed having coffee and donuts with his friends. He was always willing to help friends and family in any way needed. He loved going to Mingo Bible Church on Sundays, and he often brought a friend with him. He worked at the elevator for years, and then helped several farmers in his later years.
Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Tresa Bohall, his grandparents, William and Pearl Burris, a brother, Duane Shackelford, and many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by one brother, Lincoln Bohall of Monument, and three sisters: Shirley (David) Arnberger of Colby, Elaine Prom of Monument, and Sharon DeSpain of Colorado Springs, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 28th, at Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, Oakley. Funeral service will be held at the Mingo Bible Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, December 29th, with Pastor Tom Peyton officiating. Lunch will follow, and then the burial will be at the Grainfield Cemetery. Memorials to the Harold Burris Memorial Fund may be sent in care of Kennedy-Koster Funeral Home, P.O. 221, Oakley, KS 67748.
