Harold George Eoff

Harold George Eoff, 84, of Blanket, Texas, passed away Monday, February 2, 2026. A visitation will be held at Heartland Funeral Home from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, Thursday, February 5, 2026. The Funeral will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, February 6, 2025 at Salt Creek Baptist Church, 7775 FM 3100, Early, Texas with Interment to follow at Blanket, Cemetery.

Harold George Eoff was born on December 4, 1941, to Alvin Drew and Martha Eoff at the family home west of Blanket, Texas. He passed away on February 2, 2026.

Harold attended Blanket Schools and, at a very young age, began learning the trades of mechanics, harvesting, and operating heavy equipment-skills that would shape his life's work.

To know Harold was to know a gentle, God-fearing man. He loved the Lord, but most of all, he loved life. Monday was his favorite day of the week, and he often reminded those around him that every breath we take and every monetary thing we own is only on loan from God.

At the age of 15, Harold met his first love-Harley-Davidson motorcycles. Nearly 17 and already wiser than most, he was sent out on his own by his dad. His new home and his car, a 1955 Mercury, quickly became one and the same.

Before his 18th birthday, Harold joined the U.S. Army. On December 5, 1959, he reported to basic training at Fort Hood, Texas. Following training, he was stationed in Germany as part of the last of the strait-leg infantry. His proudest "medal" was his participation in the movie Armored Command, filmed in connection with the war in Germany-he always considered himself a movie star.

Shortly after returning to the States, Harold married Clovia Bond in Brownwood, Texas. Three children were born to this marriage: Kelvin, Dan, and Donna Patience.

In May of 1966, Harold founded Harold Eoff Land Clearing and Dirt Work, a business he faithfully operated until 2024. Over the decades, he built countless lakes, dams, roads, and tanks-too many to number. You could hardly ride in a car with him without hearing, "I built that."

Known on the CB radio as Mountain Cat, Harold lived up to the name with what seemed like nine lives. He had a lifelong passion for Harley-Davidsons and fast cars, and if you knew Harold, you knew he always had a story to tell. In later years, favorites included the tales of the Canadian geese and the orphan dog.

On July 4, 2018, Harold married Vita in a chapel built by her father, John Beall, outside of Center Point, Texas. It was a beautiful celebration of life and love.

Harold is survived by his wife, Vita; his sons, Kelvin and Tracy of Rockwood, and Dan and Teresa of Blanket; his grandchildren, Karbin and Stephany Eoff of Goldthwaite, Kutter and Shyan of Sipe Springs, Kastin Eoff of Brownwood, and Kannon Eoff of College Station; and nine great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by his bonus family: sons Rhyn and Chelsey Weehunt of Odessa and Michael Weehunt of Odessa; grandchildren Rhyder, Gunner, and Easton of Odessa, and Brooke of Monahans. Additional survivors include his sister-in-law, Judy Eoff of Blanket; his aunt, Barbara Eoff of Clyde; and a large extended family.
