Harold Green Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Grandstrand Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Lindstrom on Mar. 5, 2026.
Harold Norman Green of Rush City, MN, passed away peacefully at The Estates at Rush City on March 2, 2026.

Harold, or "Norm" as he was affectionately called, was born on July 29, 1938, in Rome, Ga., to Harold and Clara Cooper Green. He attended Armuchee High School and spent two years in the Navy, later settling in Pawtucket, Rhode Island, where he met and married Barbara Webster. The pair married in June 1966 and had one son, James E. Green. Harold worked at Sears as a maintenance technician for more than 35 years and dedicated much of his life to the Boy Scouts, spending nearly 40 years as a scoutmaster for Pawtucket Troop 1.

After Barbara's tragic passing in March 2004, Harold briefly stayed in Pawtucket. He later met and married Susan Dupre. The couple returned to Rome, where Harold was a devout member of Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church. He continued his work with the Boy Scouts during that time and spent as much time as possible with the wonderful people of his hometown. Norm and Susan moved to Minnesota in 2022 to live out Norm's final years. His loss is felt deeply by those who love him, though they are comforted by the knowledge that he is now with his Lord and Father in Heaven.

Harold is survived by his beloved son, Capt. James E. Green; his wife, Susan Green, and her son, Christopher Dupre; as well as several dear nieces and nephews. A public remembrance service will be held at the Pleasant Valley North Baptist Church on Sunday, March 8th, 2026, with visitation set to begin at 2 p.m. and the service to begin at 3 p.m.
