Harold Eugene Harris, 88, passed away at his home on Friday, August 4, 2023 and made his entrance to heaven there to meet his Lord and Savior and the many loved ones waiting for him.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at East Side Missionary Baptist Church officiated by his pastor Rev. Gene Davis and his son Pastor Todd Harris. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memory Gardens. The family will see friends on Monday at Wilkerson Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 in the evening. At other times they will be at the home.
Harold was born to the late Joel Clarence and Lillie Spain Harris in Rockingham County. He was a veteran serving in the United States Army, former owner of Harris Produce and in later years he served those who patronized the Harris Siding Company of which he owned. He was a faithful member and servant of East Side Missionary Baptist Church as a Deacon and Sunday School teacher. You could always find him at “Short Sugars” each morning having breakfast with his buddies and telling a funny story. For that matter, Harold got a kick from telling his stories everywhere he went. He was an avid golfer and won the Monroeton Club Championship in 1989. He also enjoyed going to the races. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Randy Harris and brother Junior Harris.
Those left to cherish the memories of Harold are his wife of 68 years Adean Harris; son Todd Harris and wife Heather; grandchildren Michael Harris and wife Kendra, Casey Harris and Dusty Harris and wife Amy; great grandchildren Brianna Harris, Gage Harris, T.J. Hudson, Connor Hudson, Ryder Harris, Raylan Harris and Autumn Hudson; great great grandchild Maddox Harris; and brother Pete Harris.
Memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of Rockingham County, PO Box 281, Wentworth, NC 27375 or East Side Missionary Baptist Church, 1859 Barnes Street, Reidsville, NC 27320.
