Harold Jorgenson, Mount Pleasant, South Carolina April 17, 1933 – May 31, 2016 Our Savior Jesus Christ has destroyed death and brought life and immortality to light through the Gospel. Let us remember with thanksgiving what God has done through His servant Harold Jorgenson, who passed away in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, on May 31, 2016 at the age of 83. Harold is predeceased by his parents, Harold and Clara (Anderson) Jorgenson, Curtis Jorgenson (brother), Bernadine Armagost (sister), and Marie Harris (sister). He is survived by his brother, Eugene (Marilyn) Jorgenson of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Harold was given life by his creator on April 17, 1933 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the child of Harold Jorgenson and Clara Jorgenson. He was born again of water and the Spirit through Holy Baptism as an infant. On May 25, 1947, he publicly confessed his faith and was confirmed. Throughout his life, he strengthened his faith by receiving the precious gift of the Lord's life-giving body and blood. He graduated from Logan High School in 1951 and served in the US Army from May 1953 thru May 1955. He worked for General Motors at the GM Assembly plant in Janesville, Wisconsin for 43 years, retiring in 1998. Harold was an accomplished wood worker and built many pieces of fine furniture. He enjoyed camping, boating on Lake Mendota, and his annual hunting trips with his children. On May 2, 1953, he received the gift of a beloved companion in his spouse, Joan Jorgenson (Kenyon). He was blessed with the gift of three children: Ronald (Joy), Daniel (Jane) and Marcey. He was also blessed with seven grandchildren (Daniel, Matthew, Kathryn, Andrew, Christian, Erik and Dayna) and two great grandchildren (Madelyn and Aubrey). A memorial service will be held at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, 709 Milton Ave. Janesville, Wisconsin on July 7, 2016 at 4 pm with Pastor James Janke officiating. Interment will be on July 8, 2016 at Oak Grove Cemetery, 1407 La Crosse St., La Crosse, Wisconsin at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to WELS Missions, N16W23377 Stone Ridge Drive, Waukesha, WI 53188. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord.
