We remember Harold "Hal" Kappius, who departed from us on September 8, 2024, in Greeley, CO. Hal was a beacon of unwavering friendship and kindness, who left an indelible mark on the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
Hal was born to Fred and Anna Kappius (Reeson) on December 25, 1951in Greeley, CO.
Hal is survived by his wife, Pam Wright, brother Ken Kappius (Ruth), sisters Beth Cimbura (Dave) and Angela Lewis (Mike) and many nieces, nephews and grandchildren which he spoiled to no end and adored.
Hal was proceeded in death by his brother Vern Kappius (Larry) and his parents.
After his graduation from Valley High School Hal attended the University of Northern Colorado earning a degree in finance.
Hal was a hard worker, he worked as a dedicated umpire and referee for forty years, managed a softball complex in Denver, was a landlord, among many other things.
Hal was an advocate for Weld Food bank, Habitat for Humanity, Partners among others, dedicating his time and resources to making the world a brighter place. A lover of Nascar, Softball, Baseball and travel, Hal found beauty in life's simple moments and encouraged us all to do the same.
We invite all who cherished Hal to join us in a ceremony of remembrance at Adamson Life Celebration Home 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley CO on September 21, 2024, at 4:00 PM, where we will share stories, laughter, and tears, just as Hal would have wished. A reception will follow at Highland Golf Course, Bogey's Pub & Grille, 2200 Clubhouse Drive, Greeley CO.
For those moved to honor Hal's legacy, in lieu of flowers donations can be made to Weld Food Bank or Habitat for Humanity in Hal's name. Both causes deeply important to Hal.
