Harold Eugene Kelly, II, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and dear friend peacefully passed away on August 23, 2024, in Edmond, Oklahoma, at the age of 77. Born on July 29, 1947, to Harold and Juanita Rae Kelly in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Harold's life was marked by unwavering dedication to his family and friends.
After graduating from John Marshall High School in 1966, Harold furthered his education at Southwestern State College in Weatherford, Oklahoma, earning a Bachelor’s Degree. His commitment to serve others was evident during his time in the United States Marine Corps, where he proudly served from 1968 to 1970, followed by service in the Marine Corps Reserves until 1972.
Harold’s professional career thrived at Oklahoma Gas & Electric, where he worked from 1970 until his retirement in 2006. Throughout his tenure, he made significant contributions to the company and formed lasting friendships that showcased his friendly and approachable demeanor.
Beyond his professional achievements, Harold was renowned for his culinary talents and his passion for bringing loved ones together through food. He enjoyed grilling and often hosted gatherings that created cherished memories. His nurturing spirit extended to all aspects of his life, and he was a devoted caregiver to his family. His grandchildren fondly remember him as the best Papa in the world, encapsulating kindness and thoughtfulness that touched the lives of everyone around him.
In addition to his love for cooking, Harold had a variety of hobbies, including fishing, photography, and spending quality time with friends and family. His zest for life was contagious, and he embraced every opportunity to create lasting memories with those he loved.
Harold is survived by his devoted wife, Elizabeth Kelly; his son, Jeff Kelly; his daughter, Jennifer Kelly; his grandchildren, Justin Kelly, Kiley Crawford, Tyler Crawford, Blaine Davis, and Brynna Davis; as well as his brothers, David Kelly and Charles Kelly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold Eugene Kelly and Juanita Rae Kelly.
A memorial service to honor Harold's memory will be held on August 30, 2024, at 10:00 AM at Smith & Kernke Funeral Home, 14624 N May Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73134. Harold Eugene Kelly, II, will be deeply missed, but his legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
