Harold Ralph Kuppinger, age 81, passed away April 11, 2024. He was born on July 7, 1942, in Syracuse, New York, the son of Merle and Ruth Eleanor (Neimeier) Kuppinger.
November 6, 1965, Harold Kuppinger and Rose Mellman were united in marriage.
Harold graduated from Mason City High School in 1960. He then went on to get his bachelor’s degree from Buena Vista University in Iowa. Harold served his country in the United States Navy for six years. Harold was a Master Electrician for most of his life. He was also an educator at a community college.
Harold had a great love for his family. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. The family spent their time boating, swimming, and going on camping trips in the RV.
He loved to do woodworking projects that ranged from remodeling homes to small scale woodworking. He built birdhouses and rocking chairs for all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
One of his most admired characteristics was his loyalty to his Catholic faith, his family, and his friends. He stayed connected with his high school friends and fellow service men his entire life. He always attended the school reunions throughout his years. He also was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church and an honorary Fourth Degree Sir Knight of the Knights of Columbus.
Harold is survived by his wife Rose; his first son Michael and wife (Tammy) and their three children Emily and Alan (Fiancé), Sarah and Jeremy. Matthew, his second son and his wife (Jennifer) and their three children, Nathan, Katelyn and her spouse (Anthony) Becraft, Megan and her spouse (Drew) Bieber. Michele, his first daughter and her spouse (Tony) Green, their three children Elizabeth, Leah and her husband (James) Holder, and Heather and her spouse (Derek) Scruggs. Melinda, his second daughter, Kelly and her three children, Sean, Brynn, and Kevin. He was blessed with 36 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by three sisters, Maria, and her husband (Robert) Hubbard, Marie, and her husband (Lon) Wedding and Cheryl and her husband (Wally) Wedding and a brother Gary and his wife (Linda) Sexsmith.
A vigil will be Saturday, April 13 from 2:00 PM-4:00 PM at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church followed by a funeral at 4:00 PM with Father Shoby officiating under the direction of Adams Funeral Home, Nixa, Missouri.
An inurnment will be held at the Springfield Veterans Memorial Cemetery October 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
