Harold Eugene Layne, age 78, of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday morning, June 21, 2025. He was born on July 9, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to the late John T. and Amanda Johnson Layne. Harold is preceded in death by one sister (Edna Foote), two brothers (Walt Layne and Robert Layne), and one son-in-law (Brett Mattingly). Harold was survived by his wife of 56 years, Kathryn Dahlheimer Layne. He is survived by two brothers - John Layne and Paul Layne, and by eight children - Rene' McGill (Bill), Carrie Mattingly (Brett), Harold Layne, Jr. (Joey), Anna Maurer (Trey), Vincent Layne (Denise), Wesley Layne (Liz), Preston Layne (Lyndsey), and Naomi Layne. He is survived by 27 grandchildren. Harold served in the Army from 1964-1967 including a tour of duty in Vietnam (1966-1967). Harold loved to spend time with his family - especially traveling. Having his grandchildren around always brought a smile to his face. He enjoyed reading and watching westerns, playing Rook, and putting together puzzles. Visitation will be held from 10 till noon on Monday, June 30th with funeral at noon. All at Branch Hill Baptist Church 6526 Branch Hill Guinea Pike, Loveland, Ohio.
