Harold Leimbach Obituary

Harold "Zack" Leimbach, age 79, of Kipton, died Friday at Allen Memorial Hospital in Oberlin. He was born on September 7, 1929 in Elyria, and has lived in the Henrietta-Kipton area his whole life. He graduated from Henrietta High School in 1948. He served in the Army during the Korean War. He had worked as a meat cutter for several grocery stores including the first IGA in Oberlin and Moorehead's in Oberlin. For many years he owned and operated Walker's Market in LaGrange. For the last 15 years he has worked at White House Artesian Springs in Elyria. He was a member of the Wellington Eagles #2051 and the Amherst American Legion Post #118. He had also been a member of the Camden Township Fire Department. He loved spending hours at his kitchen table doing Word Searches. He enjoyed square dancing and polka music, having cookouts at his home and loved watching football and John Wayne movies. He played for the Wakeman Red Caps and had a tryout for the Cleveland Indians. He is survived by his second wife Jeannette (Hignett), who he married on June 16, 1979, his sons Jason (Kaitlynne) Leimbach, of Amherst, Michael Leimbach, of Elyria, a daughter Colette (Martin) Buck, of Oberlin and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife Caroline (Braun) in 1969, his son Timothy in 1981, his parents Henry H. and Laura P. (Soules) Leimbach, sisters Elizabeth Karman, Olive Cibrowski, Letty Hand, Grace Greszler, and Maxine Lacrosse, three brothers Harvey, Lloyd, and John Leimbach. Friends may call on Monday from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at the Morman Funeral Home, 16 Cooper Street, Wakeman, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 am. Pastor Chuck Livermore will be officiating. Burial with military rites will take place at Camden Cemetery. Online condolences can be left at www.mormanfh.com Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
