Harold Wayne Loftis

Mr. Harold Wayne Loftis, age 76 of 2046 Joe Cobb Road, Ruffin, NC passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at his residence. Harold was born on April 15, 1948, in Rockingham County, NC to the late Adolphus (Boyd) and Audrey Loftis.

A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM ,Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Wilkerson Funeral Home with Pastor Nathaniel Hobbs officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memory Gardens with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and other times at the home. 

"Oorah” is a Marine expression of enthusiasm or a greeting. Harold was a true Marine through and through. Joining the Marines at the early age of 17, he served in Vietnam for 18 months. After only being home from the war for 10 days, he married the love of his life of 56 years, Sue Loftis. His love of the outdoors gave way to his hunting, fishing, and trapping adventures. He was a member of the Nubbin Ridge Hunting Club of Rockingham County. Aside from his recreational activities, he enjoyed gardening and taking nature walks with his dogs and grandchildren. He was a Marine, a Fighter, a Son, Father, Grandfather, Husband, Gardener, Hunter, and Friend. 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved brother, Buddy Loftis and beloved sister, Marsha Loftis.

Harold was adored by his family and left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sue Loftis, daughters Yvette Worsham (husband Lin) of Blanch, Celeste Furgurson (husband Shawn) of Reidsville, his adoring grandchildren, Savannah Kapp (husband John), Heath Worsham, Isaac Worsham (wife Alora), Chloe Furgurson, his brother Allen Loftis (Debbie), his sisters Vanessa Bankston (Donnie), Renee Amburn (Tim), Rhonda Tilley (Gregg) and many special Nieces and Nephews.
