Harold E. Luper, 83, of Bushnell, Illinois, passed away on March 13, 2026, at Sunset Rehab and Healthcare in Canton, Illinois. He was born on February 14, 1943, in Avon, Illinois, to Lawrence Odell and Mary Ruth (Bagley) Luper.

He is survived by his twin brother, Ralph (Cecilia) Luper of Table Grove, Illinois; five nieces, Connie (Artie) Boone of Wataga, Kathy West of Wataga, Susan (Todd) Pudik of Lewistown, Abby (Jeremy) Walker of Jacksonville, and Sadie (Jacob) Van Dyke of Table Grove; one nephew, Jeff Luper of Avon; great nieces and nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenny Luper and Jerry Luper.

Harold graduated from Bushnell-Prairie City High School. After high school, he attended culinary school at Madison Vocational Technical School in Wisconsin. He served in the Army Reserve. Throughout his life he worked various jobs in the area, including Montgomery Ward, Vaughn & Bushnell, Nickson Tire and Service, and Serven Fertilizer.

Harold was an accomplished organist and pianist. He played for many church services, weddings, and funerals, and was a member of the musical group "Down Beat".

Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Prairie City Cemetery. Chaplain Scot Shelburne will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Bushnell or donor's choice.
