Harold Coleman McClurg 1940-2026
Harold Coleman McClurg, 85, of Carter City, KY, passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at his son's residence in Worthington, KY.
He was born in Rowan County on June 9, 1940, to the late Fred Coleman and Mary Ruth Potter McClurg. He was a loyal servant of God and was a member of the Carter Christian Holiness Church.
He spent four years in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. He was very proud to serve his Country. He was a retired truck driver with 38 years of experience. He loved spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He also enjoyed bowling and spending time with his son and grandson.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers: Forest Lee Ingle of Rush, KY, Gordon Dean McClurg of Hayward, WI, and Bobby Lee McClurg of Fort Worth, TX.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Loretta Wilburn McClurg; a son Ryan L. (Karen) McClurg of Worthington, KY; a grandson, Nolan R.( Rachel) McClurg of Carter City, KY; two step grandchildren, Brianna and Logan Russell both of Worthington, KY;Two sisters, Janell Hendricks and Polly Hendricks both of Columbus, OH.
Funeral services will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, at 1:00 P.M. at the Sparks Funeral Home, Bill Burnett, minister. Burial will follow with Military honors at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast. Serving as pallbearers will be Randy Wilburn, Glade Wilburn, and Billy Edwards. Wesley Ingle, Roy Ingle, Ben Ingle, and Lucas Masters. Music will be provided by Darryl and Sharron Wilburn.
Visitation will be on Friday, January 23, 2026, from 11:30 A.M. until service time at the funeral home.
