Deanna Sue Maynard, age 55, of Ashland, Kentucky, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on March 3, 2026.

Deanna was born as warm days brought promise for summer on June 9, 1970. She was the blessing of the late Lando Maynard and Marcelyn Allie Maynard of Catlettsburg, KY. Deanna graduated in 1988 from Boyd County High School. She loved to travel and there was no better way to see the world than to join the United States Army. She served her country proudly for eleven years before her honorable discharge from service. During her time in service Deanna visited many foreign places like Korea and Germany. Once discharged from active duty, Deanna volunteered with the Post 95 Amvets, it was an organization that was near and dear to her heart. Deanna was of the Christian faith and attended House of Grace. It was a place of fellowship and where she felt close to God.

Deanna had a carefree soul who enjoyed making others smile. She wasn't the life of the party she brought the party to any room she entered with her happy-go-lucky cheer and her big smile. She enjoyed life to the fullest. Deanna was always trying new things and her every growing hobbies ranged from knitting and sewing to whatever gaming console she could get her hands on. She found joy outdoors, there was something about it that brought her peace, whether catching the sunrise on the beach or watching it set in the woods while she was camping, her heart was at ease. Although she was strong-willed, when it came to her family or her children she always came around. No matter the occasion she was there to help and support them when they needed it. As her mother always said "Deanna to the Rescue" !

Deanna's life touched so many and she leaves behind a legacy of strength, determination, hard work, and love. Although she will be profoundly missed , her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and in the stories they will tell others for many years to come.

In addition to her mother Marcelyn Allie Maynard, Deanna life will be celebrated by her beloved children, Cory Allen Twinam of Proctorville, OH, and Amethyst "Nikki" Marcum of Coal Grove, OH, her precious grandchildren, William Arbogast, Sena Marcum, and C.J Marcum, one brother Lando Eldon Maynard and his wife Tammy of Dallas, GA, and a host of extended family members and friends.

Deanna is not only enjoying a Heavenly reunion with her father, Lando Maynard, but also with her late husband Donald Thompson, one son A.J, Twinam, and her son-in-law Jordan Marcum.

A visitation will be held on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Neal Funeral Home, located at 2409 Center Street, Catlettsburg, from 6pm until 9pm. Military Honors will be held at the committal service on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery beginning at 1:00pm.
