Harold Morgan Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hite Funeral Home on Jan. 8, 2026.
Harold Morgan, a cherished husband, devoted father, doting grandfather, and a friend to all, passed away unexpectedly on January 5, 2026, in Kendallville, Indiana, at the age of 61. Born on December 6, 1964, in Hindman, Kentucky, to Lee and Gracie (Slone) Morgan. Harold grew up embodying the values of family, hard work, and faith that would come to define his entire life.

Married on August 16, 1985, in Virginia, Harold was known for his unwavering love for his wife, Celeste (Roberts) Morgan, with whom he shared every aspect of life's journey. Their partnership from young teenagers was a testament to love and devotion, as they were inseparable in their adventures and daily routines, setting a remarkable example of companionship for their family. Harold's legacy continues through his children, Harold Scott Morgan and his companion Taylor Oberlin of Ligonier, and daughter Amanda and her husband Kyle Green of Prestonsburg, Kentucky. His joy multiplied with the birth of each of his beloved grandchildren: Kyla Green, Kayley Green, Kaisley Green, Hayden Green, Kayden Green, Drake Green, Lexi Green, and Quinson Morgan, who will miss their Papaw's boundless affection and playful spirit.

Harold is also survived by his father, Lee Morgan of Mongo; brother, Ricky and Tiffany Morgan of Willard, Ohio; sister, Kathy and Roy Johnson of Mongo; sister, Linda and Brent Smith of South Milford; and sister, Teresa and Eli Miller of Stroh.

A proud alumnus of his local high school, Harold carried the lessons learned and friendships made into his adult life. He dedicated many years as a skilled welder at Supreme Corporation, where he was not only respected for his work ethic but also valued for his camaraderie and kindness.

An avid Kentucky Wildcats fan, Harold's enthusiasm for his team was infectious, and game days were always a special occasion in the Morgan household. His pride and joy, a gleaming 2009 Corvette, was more than a car; it was a symbol of the dreams he worked so hard to achieve. Harold was also a formidable pool shark, a hobby that showcased his playful competitive spirit and brought laughter to many memorable evenings with friends and family.

Harold's love for travel led him to the ocean, a place where he found peace and wonder in the vast beauty of the sea. His desire to leave a lasting legacy was realized not only in his personal achievements but in the positive impact he had on everyone he met. Harold was a good man whose heart of gold shone brightly through his every action. His generosity knew no bounds. He was willing to do anything for anybody at any time.

Harold's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with devotion to his family, a commitment to his faith, and a passion for the simple pleasures in life. He will be profoundly missed by his family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to have been part of his extraordinary journey. As we say goodbye to Harold, we find comfort in knowing that his spirit lives on in the countless lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. Rest in peace, dear Harold, until we meet again.

Harold was preceded in death by his mother, Gracie Slone Morgan; two grandsons, Jaxson and Branson; and a brother, Roger Morgan.
