Nufer passed away peacefully on July 11, 2025, in Lehi. He was born on February 17, 1932 in Monterey Park, a suburb of Los Angeles. He graduated from UCLA in 1957 and was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force. He served eleven years on active duty, with overseas assignments in Oslo, Norway, and Vietnam. He earned his MS and PhD degrees from Tufts University. He completed thirty years service in the Air Force Reserve while having a career as a college professor at BYU and Michigan Technological University. He published three books and several scholarly articles. He retired from the Air Force 1987 as a Colonel, and from teaching in 1991. Harold served a mission in the Eastern States and has served in bishoprics, a district presidency, as a stake high councilor, and four times as a branch president. He and his wife, Marian, moved to Lehi in 2007 after serving a mission to Norway. He served as an ordinance worker in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple for eleven years. He will be remembered for his warmth, his quirky sense of humor, and his devotion to the Lord. He is survived by his wife, Marian Joyce May Nufer, and six children, 32 grandchildren, and 64 great-grandchildren. His children are Duane (Lana) of Cedar City, Kenneth (Leslie) of Columbus, Ohio, Robin Hansen (Rick) of Highland, Douglas (Teresa) of Cedar Hills, Thomas (Brynn) of South Jordan, and Kathleen Michaelis (Lee) of Lehi. Viewings will be held Friday, July 18, 2025, from 6-8pm at Wing Mortuary, 118 East Main, Lehi, Utah, and Saturday, July 19, 2025, from 9:30-10:30am at the LDS Chapel located at 3180 N 300 W, Lehi, Utah. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 11:00 am at the LDS Chapel located at 3180 N 300 W, Lehi, Utah.
