Harold James Onnenga

Harold James Onnenga, age 87, of Toledo, passed away on Monday, October 6, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio's Toledo facility surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 3, 1938, in Toledo, OH, to Harold John and Beatrice Marie (Gembreska) Onnenga. A graduate of DeVilbiss High School "Class of 1956" and the University of Toledo, Harold was employed as an accountant for the City of Toledo for 20 years. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and cheering for Michigan football. A longtime parishioner of St. Clement Catholic Church, he was ordained a Deacon in 1978.

Harold is survived by his wife, Dolores "Dee" (Vogan) Onnenga, whom he married on May 27, 1993; daughters, Christine (Rick) Floraday, Julie (Joe) Geranimo, and Beth Ann (Dave) Wagner; stepchildren, CarrieAnne (Ken) Campbell and Cory Cripe (Mechelle Zarou); and grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Ronald Onnenga.

There will be no visitation or services. Special thanks to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the compassionate care they provided. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, the American Heart Association, and St. Clement Catholic Church.
