Harold Dean Phillips, 78, of Coffeyville passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Midland.
He was born on August 21, 1944, at Columbus, Kansas to Harold Ernest and Nora Lorene (Taylor) Phillips. Harold spent his early childhood and began his education in Columbus, in the early 1950's his family moved to Belvidere, Illinois, where he grew up and completed his education. In 1966 the family moved to Coffeyville.
Harold met and fell in love with Nettie Marie Allen, the couple married on September 13, 1970, at the Baptist Church in Dearing, Kansas. Harold worked at Haliburton before going to work at Acme Foundry, he worked at Hackney in Independence for a time until returning to Acme Foundry where he worked until retiring. He also worked at Haymaker Auction for several years.
Nettie preceded him in death on March 9, 2019.
Harold and Nettie loved to attend their grandchildren's and later their great-grandchildren's sporting events, he also enjoyed playing bingo and going fishing.
Harold is survived by his son, Jeff Allen of Coffeyville, Ks; his daughter, Tammy and husband Mark Overton of Bernice, Ok; eleven grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Nettie; his twin sister, Carol Kendzierski; and infant twin sisters.
A Graveside Service celebrating Harold's life will take place Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Liberty Cemetery in Liberty, Kansas, with Chaplain Keith Springer of Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice officiating.
Friends may call on Tuesday, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the David W. Barnes Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
The family suggests memorial to Medicalodge on Midland Activity Fund; contributions may be left with the funeral home or mailed in care of David W. Barnes Funeral Home, 306 North Cline Road, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
