Harold Powell Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Nassau Funeral Home - Callahan on Jan. 6, 2026.
Powell - Harold Leslie Powell was called home to be in the presence of his Heavenly Father on New Year's Eve 2025. He turned 84 on November 27, 2025. Harold served in the Coast Guard both on active and reserve duty. His love for railroading was evident throughout his life. Harold went to work right out of high school and worked with CSX for over 50 years. His involvement with the Georgia Coastal Railway was the highlight of his retirement. It has often been said that there wasn't anything he didn't know or any question that he couldn't answer about railroads in America and throughout the world. Most recently, Harold rededicated his life to Christ and pursued a close relationship with His Father. In sharing this, he would want everyone to know that there is only one way for salvation and that is knowing that God sent His only son (John 3:16) Jesus Christ and His sacrificial gift on the cross. If you don't know Christ, confess your sin and that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that (Romans 10:9-10) that by grace you have been saved through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Harold leaves behind those who he loved and they in turn loved him, his sister, Winnifred (Don) McNeese; cousins, Leslie Hague and Sandra Daughtry; nephew, Matt (Shannon) McNeese; niece, Stephanie Paige (Mike) Webb; grandniece, Hannah (Brad) Turner, Mallory (Devin) Pesata, Molly McNeese; grandnephew, Zach (Maddie) McNeese; great grand nephews and nieces Anniston, Karev, Hampton, Maksim, Chapel Pesata, Maisie and Payton Turner, Jaxen and Eloise Carrington and Adelaide McNeese.

The tribute above was prepared by Harold's loving family.
