Harold Prescott Obituary

SAUQUOIT - Harold "Hoey" D. Prescott, 79, passed away, peacefully, on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Grand Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rome.

He was born on May 5, 1944, in Utica, a son of the late Earl and Marjorie (Thomas) Prescott. He was a graduate of New Hartford Central Schools. He was a proud member of the Future Farmers of America. On July 1, 1971, in New Hartford, he was united in marriage to Jacqueline DiMarco, a blessed union, of over 52 years, filled with much love and mutual devotion. Mr. Prescott was a proud 7th generation dairy farmer working for his family farm, Prescott Farms in Sauquoit. After retiring from his family farm, he accepted a job with the Curtin Farms, in Bridgewater, where he worked until 2021. He was a hard worker who took great pride in his work and it showed in everything he did. In his spare time, he enjoyed bowling in many local bowling leagues with his wife, Jacqueline.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Prescott, who is currently a resident of the Presbyterian Home, in New Hartford. He leaves two children, Michael Maggiolino and Dawn (Ralph Jr.) Fabbricino; grandchildren, Brandon and Ashley, Rhiannon and Donnie, Tammy and Joe and Kayla and Paul; two sisters, Gail (Emil) Klein and Claire (Todd) Bortiatynski; sister-in-law, Alberta DiMarco; and many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Earl and Marjorie (Thomas) Prescott; son, John Maggiolino; and uncle, Ken Thomas.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Services on Saturday, February 10, 2024 at 12:30 PM at the Smith Funeral Home, 3022 Oneida St., Sauquoit, with Pastor Ken McKenzie of the Federated Church, in West Winfield, officiating.
