HAROLD WILLIAM SCHEAFFER Harold William Scheaffer, 81, of Rose Hill, KS, passed away Saturday, October 14, 2023 at home. Visitation 10 a.m. to service at 11 a.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at Headley Funeral Chapel, Augusta, KS. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2023 at Elmdale Cemetery, Elmdale, KS. Harold was born in Chapman, KS on June 4, 1942, to the late Eileene Marie (Wiles) and Melvin Daniel Scheaffer. He served in the U.S. Air Force. Harold worked as a teacher at Rose Hill Schools in business classes. He was a member of the Andover American Legion Post 406 where he served as the Commander. He also enjoyed crocheting afghans for veterans. On Dec. 28, 1970 he married Karen L. (Jacobs) Scheaffer in Cottonwood Falls, KS and she survives him. He is also survived by: a daughter, Annette Scheaffer of Rose Hill; brother, Richard Scheaffer and wife Mary Lou of Webb City, MO; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Scheaffer. He was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Scheaffer; sisters, Mary Margaret Scheaffer, Ruth Scheaffer, Joan Kidd and Eileene Canseco.
