Harold G. Schroder, loving husband of Helen (Betty) Schroder, went to be with the Lord on January 24, 2026.

Harold was born June 15, 1929, in Kingsford, MI to George and Verna (Shipley) Schroder. He was baptized in the Episcopal Church.

Deceased are his parents, his wife, Helen (Betty), and siblings Dudley Schroder, and Grace Kortman. Surviving children and spouses are Diane (Kurt) Pines, Karen (Allan)Tidwell, Donn (Laura) Schroder, and Lynn (Tom)Bennett. Surviving grandchildren are Christina Morrison, Kelly Hooker, Scott Bennett, Austin Tidwell, and Jasmine Tidwell. He also was fortunate to have nine great grandchildren.

Harold was married to Helen (Betty) Harper on September 2, 1951, in Jersey City, NJ. Harold enlisted in the U.S. Navy on August 15, 1950, at the beginning of the Korean War. He served overseas for 19 months and was honorably discharged on May 28, 1954. Harold learned his management skills in retail with the J.C. Penny Company and moved on as a district manager with the Tempo Discount Stores. In later years, Harold retired in 1988 as a vice president of Brown Lumber Company, in Traverse City, MI. Harold and Betty divided their time between Michigan and Florida. Harold was in his 80's when he was still active in tennis, golf, and played as a pro status in shuffleboard tournaments throughout the state of Florida.

A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, February 17, 2026 11:00am at Catholic Community of St. Jude 801 N. Bridge Street, DeWitt, Michigan.

The family would like to thank all of the wonderful staff at StoryPoint Abbot Park in East Lansing for enriching his later years with love.
