Harold Eugene "Gene" Snider

Harold Eugene “Gene” Snider, 93, of Salisbury, NC passed away Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Novant Health Rowan Regional Medical Center.

Gene was born February 3, 1932 in Rowan County, to the late Lawrence and Mae Snider. He graduated from East Spencer High School in 1950. Gene played two years pro baseball. He enlisted in the Navy Seabees in 1951 during the Korean War and served in Korea. He was an avid golfer and played in a lot of senior tournaments. Gene worked for the VA Hospital and retired after 30 years.

Gene was a member of North Main Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty Mason Snider on February 12, 2003 whom he was a devoted caregiver to and a brother, Jimmie Snider 2012.

Left to cherish his memory are his grandson, Jason B. Causby and wife Becky of Salisbury, NC and their children, Jaysa, Grey and Griggs; step- son, Steven “Skip” Causby and wife Kim of Little River, SC; granddaughters, Hannah Causby and Sarah Causby; sister, Nancy Mulkey of Salisbury, NC and several special nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held at 11 AM Friday (Dec 26) at the Rowan Memorial Park Mausoleum, officiated by Rev. Dr. Dale Robertson.
