HAROLD C. TICE, 82 of Kennett Square, PA, died on November 18, 2005 at Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA. He was the husband of Anna �Ethel� Gamble Tice of Kennett Square, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Born in Kennett Square, he was the son of the late Grover C. Tice Sr. and the late Laura Underwood Tice. Mr. Tice served in the U. S. Army during World War II in the 86th infantry division for 2 years and as instructor at the Tank Destroyer School for 1 year. In 1946 Harold started his career as a clerk for the National Bank and Trust company of Kennett Square. He continued his banking education and graduated from the Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University in 1960. He served on the board of directors and was elected President of the bank in 1975. He continued as President and CEO until 1982 when he retired from active service, but continued as a consultant member on the Advisory Board for the Meridian Bank until 1987. He was a member and past Commander of the William W. Fahey American Legion Post #491, member and past president of the Kennett Fire Company, member of the Chester County Administration Management Society, the Chester County Development Council and past secretary of the Kennett Square School Authority. Survivors include in addition to his wife: Four Daughters: Linda C. Tice and her husband John L. Stittsworth of Kennett Square. Sharon P. Tice of Hampton VA. Beth Ann Walsh and her husband Michael of Winston Salem NC, and Nancy E. Hallinan and her husband Patrick of Oxford, PA. 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren also survive. A funeral service will be held 11AM Tuesday November 22, 2005 at the Kennett Square Presbyterian Church 211 South Broad St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. Family and friends may call from 6-8 PM Monday November 21 at the Kuzo and Gofus Funeral Home 250 West State St. Kennett Square and from 10-11AM at the church the day of the service. Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Church at the above address or the American Alzheimer�s Association 325 Chestnut St. Suite 1120 Philadelphia, PA 19106.
