Harold Williams Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Lewis Funeral Home - San Antonio on Feb. 19, 2026.
Harold James Williams, a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and dear friend, entered eternal rest on February 17, 2026, at the age of 93.

He was born on March 2, 1932, in Asheville, North Carolina, to Sarah Williams. At an early age, Harold developed a strong sense of duty and compassion for others-qualities that would define his life's work and legacy.

Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he worked as a medic for over 20 years before retiring from military service. His dedication to caring for others did not end there. After retiring from the military, he continued his service-oriented career as a supervisor overseeing the First Aid Station at Turbine Chromality, where he faithfully served for 15 years.

A man of deep faith, Harold believed in God and was a devoted member of St. Stephen's Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a long-standing Department of Army Veterans (D.A.V.) representative, dedicating many years to supporting fellow veterans and advocating on their behalf.

Harold had a generous spirit and was always willing to lend a helping hand. He loved fishing and cherished the peaceful moments it brought him. More than anything, he valued time spent with family and friends, giving freely of his time, wisdom, and love.

He met and married the love of his life, Elizabeth Williams, and together they shared a beautiful union of 65 years until her passing in 2018. Their marriage was a testament to enduring love, faith, and partnership.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, and his beloved wife, Elizabeth Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory: his son, James Manous (Elma); six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; his only brother, Richard Metz (Olivia); and a host of other close relatives and dear friends.

Harold's life was one of service, faith, and unwavering love for his family and community. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who were blessed to know him.
