Harold Wood

Harold Maurice Wood, age 96, of Delaware, Ohio made his heavenly transition Sunday evening, December 21, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Harold was born in Madison, Ohio on January 1, 1929, to the late Maurice and Vivian (Holmden) Wood.
Harold attended Madison High School, where he graduated with the Class of 1947. Following high school, Harold joined the United States Army, serving during the Korean War.
Harold would go on to marry the love of his life, Patsy (Atkin) Wood on January 21, 1954, in Madison, Ohio. The two went on to enjoy 63 years of marriage, before Patsy's passing in 2016.
Harold was employed as a union carpenter. Notable projects in which he was involved include multiple large buildings in Cleveland, Ohio, as well as many of the bridges and overpasses on Interstate 90. Over the years, he took pride in completing multiple additions and improvements to the family's home, in which his son and daughter-in-law still reside.
In his spare time, Harold enjoyed fishing, being outdoors, travelling the US with his wife and family, and working with his hands. Harold preferred to stay busy. He occupied himself with all manner of projects.
Harold was funny, loving, faithful, and so loyal to his family. Harold was a builder. He built his family's faith, their home, their life, and so many wonderful relationships with friends and family.
Harold will be forever missed.
In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his wife Patsy (Atkin) Wood, and by his son-in-law Kim Kocher (Laura Little).
Those left to cherish Harold's memory include his son Mark (Sheri) Wood; daughters Virginia (Rik) Jarvis, Laura (Steve) Little, and Linda (Rick) Gottfried; as well as numerous beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Fairview Memorial Park, Madison, Ohio on June 5, 2026. Further details to be announced.
