It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Harriet (Stella) H. Baranowski, who left this world on September 22, 2025, at the age of 88. Harriet's life was a beautiful testament to love, strength, and devotion to her family and friends. Harriet was born on December 18, 1936, in Cleveland, Ohio. She had been a resident of Pioneer Ridge in North Ridgeville for the past 14 years. Harriet was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Helen Houdek and a devoted wife to her late husband, Eugene (Gene). Together, they created a home centered on family, faith, and kindness-values Harriet carried forward throughout her life. Harriet was happiest cooking for her family, getting involved in community activities, spending time with her kids, grand and great-grand kids, playing bridge and cribbage, reading, relaxing with a glass of sangria, or hoping to win big at the casino. Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and a sense of welcome to all who entered. She found her greatest joy in the company of her loved ones, celebrating both the big milestones and the quiet, everyday moments that made life meaningful. Her sense of humor was unforgettable, her wisdom timeless, and her presence was a source of comfort and strength to everyone who knew her. Harriet is survived by her son, Joseph Baranowski (Kathy); daughters, Denise File (Rick) and Leslie Rotsky (Jay). She was the proud grandmother of Tyler Stricker; Jessica Wooten (Kevin); Allison Christy (Jacob); Emily Mbah (John); Sara Lewis (Michael); Jacob and Annie Rotsky; great-grandmother of Parker, Maxine, Brayden, Brody, and Jonah, who brought her endless joy. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene; her cherished daughters, Debra Chokan (Eric) and Lorraine Stricker (Don); her brothers, Francis, Philip, and George; her sisters, Georgina and Geraldine; and her parents, Joseph and Helen Houdek. While she deeply mourned their loss, she carried their love and memory in her heart throughout her life. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 4, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter Church, 35777 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Rev. Isadore Munishi will officiate. Private inurnment will be at Holy Cross Cemetery, Brook Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the 26 Foundation www.26foundation.org Her memory will remain forever in our hearts. She will be deeply missed and eternally loved.
