Harriet Buxbaum Obituary

Harriet Buxbaum, 82, passed away from pancreatic cancer on Aug 12th, 2025. She fought with grit and grace until the very end. She grew up in Columbia, SC and earned her Bachelor's degree from USC. She also had a Masters in Business and then became a teacher. She taught at Middletown High for 30 years as a computer science teacher. She loved to travel, and thankfully got to see the world. She saw the glass half full and was the most positive person you could ever know. She enjoyed all sports and playing cards. She loved her life, most importantly her family and friends. She loved spending her time volunteering and helping out whenever she could. Long before her diagnosis she had decided to donate her body to medical science, little did she know how significant that decision could end up being for pancreatic research. She was the best friend you could ever have. There are no words to describe how much she will be missed. She is survived by her husband Howard, her daughters Jill and Debra and her grandson Owen. As well as her brother Dr. Roy Cohen and sister-in- law Ellen.

In lieu of flowers a donation to her synagogue Kol Ami or to pancreatic research would be wonderful. Harriet Buxbaum

Had her as a teacher over 30 years ago for several computer classes in high school and always loved joking with her and the friendly banter she did with all her students, she was a great person and will be truly missed
