Harriet M. Dexter, 78, of North Providence, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Doris (Andrews) Dexter.
Harriet worked in the insurance industry as an underwriter for many companies such as Allendale, Lexington and A.I.G. for many years before retiring in 2010.
She was the beloved mother of Paul K. Dexter and his wife Laura; sister of Glenn, Prescott and Pearl Dexter; loving gramma to Jaden and Juliana Dexter. She was the sister of the late Dolores, Marlene, Steve, Bruce, Wesley, Richard, Eddie and Barry. She was a special aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Harriet enjoyed lunches with treasured friends and family. Gramma would never miss an activity of her grandchildren, as she was one of their biggest chearleaders. She loved puzzles, playing games, and Hallmark movies and especially her collection of Nutcrackers. Harriet will always be remembered for her giving heart and strong spirit.
Her funeral will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, at 8:15 a.m. from the Maceroni Funeral Home, 1381 Smith St., North Providence, followed by a Requiem Eucharist at 9:30 a.m. in St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 1 Smith Avenue., Greenville. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visitation Friday 4-7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, we would love for you to take the time to give blood at the Rhode Island Blood Center or donations in Harriet’s memory may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society PO Box 22324 New York, NY 10087.
