Harriet Ann Frisk Johnson left this world to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on November 25, 2025. She was born on April 14, 1944, to Elmer and Esther (Noreen) Frisk in Hawley, MN, and grew up in the community of Dale, MN. Harriet received her early education at Winnipeg Junction for grades 1 through 6 and later became a proud member of the Hawley Nuggets, graduating in 1962.
In 1965, she married Ron Johnson, and together they built a loving family. Their daughter Kristen was born in Minneapolis, followed by their sons, Jason in Sauk Rapids and Jeremy after moving to Harriet’s childhood home near Hawley, eventually settling in rural Lake Park.
Harriet pursued her education at Moorhead State and St. Cloud State before dedicating many years to her career at Dakota Clinic, which later became Essentia, from which she retired in 2012. She continued to share her passion for nurturing children through her work at preschools in the Lake Park-Audubon area and at Detroit Lakes Community Alliance Church.
Harriet held a deep faith that sustained her throughout her life, especially following the passing of her beloved husband Ron in 1995. She found comfort in knowing that they would be reunited in heaven. Harriet is survived by her children, Kristen (Gaylen), Jason (BreAnne), and Jeremy (Angie); along with her grandchildren, Elisabeth (Grant), Meghan (Jacob), Katelyn, Brayden, Noah, Tate, and Atley; and her great-grandchildren, Will and Reece. She is also remembered by her sister-in-law, Marlys, and many dear nieces and nephews.
A devoted prayer warrior, Harriet's daily prayers were filled with love for her family, fervently hoping that each member would come to know and walk with Jesus. The song “May Those Who Come Behind Us Find Us Faithful,” sung at Kristen and Gaylen’s wedding, resonated deeply with her and epitomized her legacy. Harriet looked forward to meeting her Grandma Frisk, who passed away in the 1930s, and often expressed gratitude towards Mrs. Ritteman, who led her to Jesus when she was 10 years old.
Harriet had a remarkable gift for friendship; she effortlessly connected with everyone she met, turning strangers into friends through her warmth and approachable spirit.
Visitation for Harriet will be Friday, December 5, 2025 at Community Alliance Church in Detroit Lakes, MN, from 5pm - 6:30pm with a 6:30pm Prayer Service and Time of Sharing. Harriet's funeral service will be Saturday, December 6, in Community Alliance Church at 12pm. Visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be in Spirit and Life Cemetery, rural Lake Park, MN.
