Solveig Berg, 90, of Moorhead, MN, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2026. in RiverPointe Assisted Living, Moorhead, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Solveig Ramstad the beloved daughter of Clarence and Anne (Studlien) Ramstad spent her early years growing up in Moorhead, where she built many lifelong friendships and memories. She had a strong faith and was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN.
Solveig married Robert Mead, and together they welcomed their son, Peter Mead, who was truly the pride and joy of her life. Peter remained the center of her heart until his passing, and she took great pride in being his mother.
Professionally, Solveig devoted many years to serving others. She spent two years as an English teacher in the Twin Cities while her husband attended college before returning to Moorhead as a high school teacher. But her greatest career accomplishment was as a financial guidance counselor at Moorhead State Community and Technical College, where she helped countless students navigate their educational and financial paths. Her compassion, patience, and dedication made a lasting impact on those she worked with. She was a trailblazer for women’s rights and independence.
In 2009, Solveig married Kenneth Berg, and together they made their home in Dilworth, Minnesota. They shared many meaningful years together until Ken’s passing.
Later in life, Solveig rekindled a cherished relationship with Robert Norby. After a short courtship, the two were united in marriage in April of 2024. She loved it when they would take country drives and have a picnic under the pine tree out at the farm.
Solveig will be remembered for her warm heart, her dedication to her family and friends, and the care she showed to those around her. She leaves behind many who will deeply miss her presence and the kindness she brought into their lives.
Solveig is survived by her husband Robert Norby; stepdaughter, Sara (Micah); several grandchildren; a niece; many cousins and friends who were like family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, son Peter, husband, Kenneth and sister, Ellen Wright.
