Born on June 12, 1939, in Alma, Michigan, Harriet was the daughter of the late Harry and Sarah Margaret (Iles) Weburg. She graduated from Breckenridge High School in 1956 and later earned her Licensed Practical Nurse certification from Mott Community College. Harriet dedicated over 25 years of compassionate service to McLaren Hospital in Flint, followed by seven years in a cardiologist’s office before retiring.
In 1957, Harriet married her first husband, Thomas McCallum, with whom she raised a loving family. After Tom’s passing, she found love again with Jerome Mankowski, and together they shared many joyful years.
Harriet’s life was defined by her unwavering generosity and nurturing spirit. Her home was a haven for anyone in need — always open, always welcoming. Whether you were family, a friend, or simply passing through a difficult time, she offered a place to rest, reflect, and feel cared for. She devoted much of her retirement to raising and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Harriet was also deeply involved in her church community. She served faithfully as an organist and treasurer and was an active member of the Board of Evangelism and the Ladies Guild for many years. Her faith and service were central to her life, and she touched many hearts through her dedication.
She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Mary) McCallum; seven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and her sisters, Maxine and Ruthann. Harriet is also remembered fondly by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends whose lives she touched.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Thomas McCallum and Jerome Mankowski; and her daughters, Valerie Goodman and Vicki Kassing.
