Harriet Lucille (Boller) Rust, 91, of Mason City, Iowa, died Tuesday, August 27, 2024 in Saint Paul, Minnesota. A celebration of life will be held from 12 to 2 p.m. on Friday, October 18, 2024, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N Pennsylvania Ave.
She was born on June 30, 1933 to Harvey and Edith (Forristall) Boller in Goodell, Iowa. She graduated from Goodell High School and married Richard G. Rust on July 27, 1951. They had two children, Terry Howard and Kathleen Ann.
Known among family and friends for making the best mashed potatoes and pies, Harriet was always up for a good game of cards and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. While she had a long-time fear of water, she could often be found accompanying Richard on his fishing boat or watching safely from the dock while her grandkids water-skied and swam. She spent her golden years traveling with Richard in their RV before settling in Mesa, Arizona.
Harriet is survived by her children Terry (Cindy) and Kathi (Robb Heady), her grandchildren Randy Rust, Stephanie (Erik) Johnson, Allie (Jesse) Rangel, Jake (Jenica) Heady, and her great grandchildren Samantha, Evelyn and Wesley Johnson, Brady, Greta and Nina Rangel and Xander Heady.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and eight siblings; Howard, Darwin, Larry, Jerry, Helen, Cleola, Eulalia and Beth.
