Harriette D. Howerin, 92, of Orange Park and formerly of Palatka, passed from this life on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Life Care Center of Orange Park following an extended illness. She was a native of Raleigh, NC and had lived in Orange Park since 1995 coming from Palatka. Harriette had worked as a bookkeeper for many years; however, her greatest joy was being a homemaker and raising her three children. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Orange Park. Harriette enjoyed reading, crocheting, collecting dolls and singing hymns.
She is preceded in death and is now united again with her husband, James E. Howerin.
She is survived by sons, Bill Fair and Michael L. Fair, Captain, USN (Ret), and daughter, Jennie Ann Fair, 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren as well as 9 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Johnson-Overturf Chapel in Palatka with her sons Bill and Mike officiating. Burial will follow in Palatka Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00 pm until time of services.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601, or www.alz.org.

Arrangements are entrusted to Johnson-Overturf Funeral Home in Palatka.
