David Ralph Ayers, better known as Harry, passed away at his home on Saturday, September 20, 2025 surrounded by those closest to him.

Harry was 75 years old, having been born on July 6, 1950, in Abbeville, SC. He was a son of the late Billy Ralph Ayers and the late Lizzie Mae Willouby Ayers Powell. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Louise Ayers; two sons, David Ralph Ayers, Jr. and James Andrew Ayers, a sister and a brother.

Harry was a certified electrician and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. His favorite television programs were anything "western". He will be remembered for his love for grandchildren and quick wit. Harry served in the US Army.

He is survived by sons, Chris Clay and Randall Ayers; and brothers Van Ayers, and Eddie Ayers. Harry's family finds comfort in the many good memories and laughter they shared, and in remembering the love and kindness he showed to them all.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 27, 2025, from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm at The McDougald Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Duckett officiating. Cremation will follow the service.

Flowers will be accepted, and the family will be at their respective homes.
