Harry Delbecq Obituary

RUSHVILLE - Harry Delbecq passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 24, 2025.

He was born Nov, 3, 1925, in Defiance, Ohio, to Anna (Mekus) and Bernard Delbecq.

After his Navy service in World War 11, he married Loretta Rosebrock, (deceased 1977), and had seven children. Formerly of Waterloo and Rushville, he is survived by children Diane Trapp (Charlie) of Wolcottville, Elaine Delbecq (James Knapp, deceased) of Indianapolis, Darlene Delbecq of Rushville, Debra Delbecq of Rushville, Karen McInerny (Daniel McInerny) of Indianapolis and Brenda Hughett (James Hughett, deceased) of Indianapolis; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and his sibling, Virginia Von Seggern.

He is preceded in death by his son, Roger Delbecq, in 2008.

Visitation will be at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 1098 C.R. 39, Waterloo, on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at 11 a.m.

It is altogether fitting and proper to use the word "ornery" to describe Harry. Many fond memories of Harry and dad (James Elchinger) relating their glory days on the St. Mikes baseball diamond.
