Harry Joseph Egan

A life well lived.
Harry Joseph Egan born April 19, 1940 to James and Lillian Egan in Yonkers, NY.
Harry grew up on Riverdale Avenue with his sister Ann, brothers Eddie, Jimmy, Pete and Gil, and many friends that still remain close. There he also met Marlene. The love of his life.
Harry married Marlene on August 1, 1964, and they always worked as a team. They stepped up to the role of parents for Marlene's baby sister and brother Debi and Bruce and the family started to grow. Years later Harry and Marlene had two girls, Carol and Jennifer who were the light of their lives.
Harry worked at Otis Elevator for more than 35 years. This afforded a move from New York to Connecticut to follow Otis's world headquarter relocation to. The move created a new destination for the family to get out of the city and celebrate countless occasions and holidays together and to have the family spend time in the country. Any weekend was an occasion, and Thanksgiving could last a week. Family, love, togetherness. Always great neighbors. Always great friends.
As time marched on, Harry and Marlene chose to retire to Greensboro, NC and enjoy their golden years. During this time, they enjoyed many trips to Disney and other travel destinations, always driving up and down the East Coast to visit family and loved ones. Memories too big to capture and always a focus on family.
Harry was a caring and generous man who helped many family members, co-workers and friends in a variety of ways some big and some small. May that beautiful spirit continue in his honor.
Harry left this world on Sunday, July 6 under the loving care of hospice and with his wife by his side.
