Mr. Harry Jay Tift, age 70, of Chapel Hill, TN, passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 at his residence. He was a native of Lansing, MI and a son of the late Harry Samuel Tift and Josena Feikema Tift. Jay was retired from General Motors Corporation as a skilled tradesman which included his performance as a machinist and electrician. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Linda Sue McGrath Tift in 2021, and a sister, Melody Bemiss.
Jay loved the outdoors and landscaping his lawn. He enjoyed watching old western shows and movies. Most of all, he loved his family, especially his children, grandchildren and great grandchild.
Mr. Tift is survived by his sons, Bradly Tift of Chapel Hill, TN and Benjamin Tift of Chapel Hill, TN; 2 grandsons, Dylan Tift, Jonathan Tift; 1 great grandchild, Rowan Tift; sister, Joanie Mills of Cheboygan, MI.
The family will host a Celebration of Life at a later date.
