Harry Kenney Obituary

Harry N. Kenney, 90, husband of Mary (Walsh) Kenney of Berlin, formerly of Rocky Hill, passed away November 30, 2025, at home. He was born in Monroe, ME, son of the late Harry N. and Frances (Grant) Kenney. Prior to his retirement, Harry served on the Hartford Fire Department for over 27 years, retiring as a Captain. He was President of the Hartford Firefighters Union for 10 years, President of the Hartford Firefighters Retirees Association for 5 years, and a member of the Hartford Firefighters Benevolent Society, the Hartford Firefighters Protective Association, and the Hartford Fire Department Emerald Society. Harry went on to serve as a Hartford County Sheriff for 18 years. Prior to joining the Hartford Fire Department, he was a member of the Rocky Hill Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Wethersfield-Rocky Hill Elks Lodge 2308.
Besides his wife Mary, Harry will be greatly missed by his daughter Karen Guarnaccia and her husband Dennis, of Wethersfield, his grandchildren, Michael Martin, Mason Martin, Brian Garnaccia and his wife Joy, and Scott Guarnaccia and two great-grandchildren, Reese and Riley. He also leaves his sister, Margaret Larson, and several nieces and nephews. Harry was predeceased by his daughter Linda Martin, his sister Eugenia O'Leary, and brother Clayton Kenney.
Friends may call on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the Farley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 34 Beaver Road, Wethersfield. A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Harry's life will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 10:00 am in St. Elizabeth Seton Church of St. Josephine Bahkita Parish, 280 Brook Street, Rocky Hill. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Park, 580 Elm Street, Rocky Hill. To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Harry, please visit our floral store.
