Published by Legacy on Dec. 1, 2025.
Harry Kettle Jr., age 69, of Ponsford, MN, died on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND.

Harry Joseph was born on December 11, 1955, in White Earth, MN, the son of Harry Sr. and Hazel (Boswell) Kettle. He grew up in Minneapolis, MN, where he attended school. Following his schooling, Harry enlisted with the United States Marine Corp. After the service, he returned to Minneapolis for a time before settling on the White Earth Reservation. Harry worked in the housing department for White Earth Nation until his failing health forced him to retire.

He will be remembered as a caring individual with an open door for any family or friend in need. Harry had a great sense of humor, always joking around. In his younger years, he played softball and his love for sports continued. Harry enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a smoke. Other hobbies like going to the casino and playing cards, specifically 10,000 and cribbage, occupied his time. Above all, Harry loved the time he spent with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be missed by many.

Harry is survived by his children: Jane Kettle, James Kettle, and Harry Kettle III, Derek Greenfeather, Steven Greenfeather, Dawn Basswood and Sunshine Rock; eight grandchildren; two great granddaughters; sisters: Elizabeth Westbrook, Nancy Kettle and Valerie Kettle; brother, Vincent Kettle and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two siblings, Ronald Kettle and Brenda Kettle; special aunts, Jennie Basswood and Mary "Spoon" Ortley and Richinda Basswood Rock.

Traditional Services will be held at the Old Pine Point School on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 am. Visitation will begin on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at 5:00 pm with a ceremony at 7:00 pm and continue until the time of the service on Friday.
