Gloria Kettle

Gloria Littlejohn Kettle, our loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2025, in a room full of love with her husband and family at her bedside. Gloria was 75 years old.

Gloria was born on May 23, 1950, in Atlanta, Texas. The daughter of Allie Mae McWilliams and Felix Oscar Littlejohn. At the age of six, Gloria moved to Salt Lake City, but her southern upbringing was always a part of her. She was the ultimate example of grace and grit.

Gloria graduated from West High School in 1968 and a few years later met her eternal sweetheart, Gary Raymond Kettle. Gary and Gloria were married for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake City Temple on November 21, 1972. They are the parents of two daughters, Angi and Heather.

Gloria's life revolved around her husband, children, and grandchildren, whom she loved with all of her heart. Her unconditional love was evident, and her greatest treasure was spending time with her family. Whether it was whipping up a southern fried chicken meal with all the fixins,' baking her famous chocolate cream and banana cream pies, or making our very favorite Christmas Jello, she loved bringing her family together. Gloria had many skills and talents outside of the kitchen. She was a talented seamstress, writer, and she loved to read. You could often find her with a book in her hand. She loved to bowl, and she and Gary enjoyed competing as part of a bowling league. She had a way of making holidays and birthdays special for everyone, caring for every last detail. She loved to decorate her home and front porch for every holiday.

Throughout her life, Gloria had many cherished friendships. Her kindness, generosity, and contagious laughter were felt by all those who had the blessing of knowing her.

In her life, Gloria faced health issues which robbed her of doing the things she loved, but she faced all of life's challenges with extraordinary strength, courage, and grace. She lived her life with faith in her Savior Jesus Christ, as her foundation, always trusting in God's plan for her. She taught all those around her what it really meant to endure to the end. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed serving in a variety of callings during her life, but her favorite was serving in the Young Women organization.

Gloria is survived by her loving husband, Gary, her daughters, Angi (Brett) Anderson, Heather (Travis) Romney, her cherished grandchildren, Ashlyn, Aryn, and Cael Romney, her niece, who was her bonus daughter, Alexis (Nelson) Lloyd, and her sister, Glenda Justice. She was preceded in death by her parents and three siblings, Margaret Bennett, Richard McCasland, and Darlene Larsen.

Gloria's legacy of love, faith, and resilience will continue to inspire our family for generations to come. She will be missed each and every day, but her beautiful spirit will live on in our hearts forever. Mom, we will use your own words to tell you that we "Love You More," and don't worry, we "Washed our hands, and locked all the doors."

It is with much gratitude that we want to thank Dr. Gordon E. Harmston and Benjamin Draleau, PA at the IMC Liver Transplant Clinic, who treated her with such dedication and kindness for so many years as well as the team of experts who performed her paracentesis procedures. We also express our thanks to the doctors and nurses at the IMC Thoracic ICU who, in the last few days of her life, cared for her with such compassion and gentleness.
