Anderson & Goff Mortuary - DraperOur brother, Scott Evan Hunt, passed away on October 20, 2025. He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on February 24th, 1966, to Robert and Lavon Hunt. He grew up with 3 brothers and 2 sisters in Rose Park. He graduated from West High School in 1984. For those that got to know Scott, he was well-liked. He is remembered by his siblings for being a bit of a pest at times. He was always climbing the walls, hanging from the door frames, and jumping around from place to place. Scott liked to give some people nick-names. Here are some examples of his creative spirit: his mom was “Mama-Thometer”:, his dad was “Dirt-Ballog”, some of his nieces were “Josefina-Barbital” and “Grease-or-Grime”, and some of his nephews were “Man-of-Men” and the “Chad-Man”.
Scott was a great athlete. When he was 10-12 years old he worked hard for the President’s Youth Physical Fitness Award. He played church and youth basketball, baseball, soccer, and loved to ride a skateboard. He played little league baseball on a team with his brother-in-law-coach who remembers Scott pitching and catching almost every-other game. With the help of his batting and baseball skills, his team competed for the league championship and he was one of the most valuable players! He really enjoyed fishing with his dad at Strawberry Reservoir. He loved to camp and hunt as well. Scott was a dare devil. His mom called him a “Hot Dogger”. He loved snow-skiing, and riding his dirt bike. He even ruined the old family car by jumping it over and over on a dirt track he had found.
His family remembers Scott as a great artist. He loved to draw using both pencil and charcoal to create beautiful portraits and other drawings. He worked with metal and other materials to create memorable pieces of art. Some remain in the homes and gardens of his siblings!
Scott held many jobs over his lifetime. He worked painting, construction, metal work, and with his dad at the Deseret News Company. Scott and his long-term companion lived with and cared for Bob and Lavon for years, allowing them to stay in their home until their passing.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters in law: Blair (Sue) and Dennis (Cris), and his sister Sandra (Tom). His sister Laurel and his brother Randy have passed away. He has many nieces and nephews. He was loved by all who knew him and will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life in his memory will be held on March 14th, 2026, starting at 4:00 PM @ the LDS church building on 13366 So. 1300 East, Draper, Utah.
