Harry M Leacy of Newton, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, February 28th surrounded by loved ones. He was 88

Harry was born in Boston, Massachusetts in 1937 to Ralph Dillon Leacy and Florence Lannon.

Harry enlisted in the United States Army serving proudly as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne. He was stationed in Germany.

Following his service he married the love of his life Marion (McLellan). Together they raised their 5 children in Newton. They were married for 64 years this past October.

Harry was a long distance truck driver for many years, working for Neptune Moving Company. Harry later began working for the City of Newton in the DPW department from which he retired and enjoyed 27 years of retirement.

Harry was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. His larger-than-life presence always brought joy and laughter to everyone who had the honor of meeting him. He was a force of nature who loved his family, was fiercely loyal, a man of faith and heart of gold offering help whenever he witnessed a need.

Friends and Family fondly referred to him as Pops.

Harry is survived by his devoted wife of 64 years, Marion, his children, Judi Cunningham (Stephen), Janet Locklin (Robert), Joan Paschal (Thomas), Harry Leacy (Lucinda), Jennifer Leacy, H. Kohler and his cousin Richard Leacy. Harry is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Additionally he is survived by many nieces and nephews. His parents and his siblings, Virginia Price, Ralph Leacy, Geraldine Coggeshall and Florence Joy, all predeceased him.
