Harry Majlak

Harry "Hammer" Majlak of New Bern, NC entered into God's Kingdom on Monday May 29, 2023. He was 65 years old. Harry was born on January 18, 1958 to the late Zoltan and Theresa Majlak. He is survived by his beloved sister Andrea DeManche and her son Nicholas of New Bern; his aunt Barbara Mangiacopra of Derby, CT; his brother Michael ("Mitchie") of Norwalk, CT; and his brother Charles ("Chuckie") of Bridgeport, CT. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Harry was a highly skilled and respected contractor with innumerable friends and colleagues in all aspects of the construction industry. A graduate of Central High School in Bridgeport, Harry owned and operated a small, successful business in Fairfield County, CT. "Hammer" was a staple in some of the popular early morning coffee stops where he loved to discuss his two true-life passions: cooking and fishing. A life-long member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of the Elks (B.P.O.E.), Harry absolutely loved fishing and would spend hours telling anyone that was interested about the ones that "got away".

Hammer had a personality that was larger than life and had a charisma that allowed him to make friends regardless of the situation. He had an infectious laugh and the image of him grilling on a holiday weekend in his Mother's favorite apron with a chef's hat and a cigar dangling over his latest spare rib "rub" concoction will bring a true smile and a hearty laugh to everyone that knew him. He will be sorely missed by friends and family alike.

To honor Harry's wishes no services will be held. He will be buried at sea with a plaque honoring him at the Neptune Memorial Reef off of the coast of Key Biscayne, FL.
