Harry James Overly went home to be with Jesus Wednesday, March 27, 2024.

He was preceded in death by many loved ones including the love and light of his life Alma Overly his wife of 55 years.

Harry leaves behind his daughters and son-in-laws Sheri Overly, Brenda and Scott Howard and Paula and Rory Carrol as well as his 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, brother Jerry, many nieces and nephews and many more friends and family.

Harry was the youngest of 7 children born on May 3, 1944, in Grand Rapids Michigan to Birdie and Kenneth Overly.

Harry gave his life to the Lord at an early age and was devoted to the things of God. As he grew in knowledge and wisdom God called him to spread the good news to anyone who would listen. His devotion to furthering the kingdom was undeniable as he was used in many ministries throughout his life. He helped plant multiple churches, taught bible studies, preached, was on the worship team as a musician, ran children's church, visited the nursing homes regularly and was used in many other ways. Most of all his family knew him as a powerful prayer warrior who would devote hours daily to praying over the pages of names he had written down and reading the Bible. He loved to listen to old gospel music and play his guitar, trumpet and various other instruments unto the Lord any chance he could.

Services celebrating Harry James Overly's life will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2024, at Pathway-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, Moberly, MO, with visitation starting at 12:00 p.m. until the time of service, followed by a private family burial.
