Harry Preisendorf Obituary

Harry C. Preisendorf

April 26, 1939 - January 26, 2026

Harry C. Preisendorf passed away on January 26, 2026, at Saint Francis Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.

The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at 2 p.m. at All Faiths Funeral Home. Dan Naranjo to officiate. Memorials are suggested to the family for future designation. Online condolences may be left at www.giallfaiths.com

Harry C. was born April 26, 1939, the son of Harry Conrad and Helen (Stiller) Preisendorf. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High class of 1958. On October 7, 1961, he married Pauline Shanks. The union was blessed with son, Harry T. and daughter, Bess. They eventually moved to the family farm north of Grand Island. Harry began farming full time. He loved farming and often said he never worked a day in his life. Harry was inquisitive and enjoyed many hobbies. He was a bit on the ornery side, but his blue eyes always hinted of a kind and gentle soul.

In his younger years, he was a Boy Scout and traveled to Philmont Scout Ranch, an experience he always remembered fondly. He was a member of the Amateur Trap Association for years. He was fortunate to attend the Grand American in Vandalia, Ohio. It was the experience of a lifetime for him. He loved shooting trap as well as bird hunting with his beloved German Shorthaired Pointer, Penny. He enjoyed photography and loved capturing pictures through the camera lens and then developing black and white pictures. For many years, he was an active member of the YMCA and the GI Joggers. He competed in numerous 5K races, a few half marathons, and even took on the challenge of triathlons. He hiked the Grand Canyon several times and enjoyed bike riding as well. Pauline and Harry loved traveling to Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Utah, and New Mexico with his wife. They enjoyed gambling and his favorite game was Keno.

Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Harry T. (Alicia) Preisendorf; daughter, Bess (Kerry) Sheeks; granddaughter, Tori (Taylor) Rossenbach; great-grandson, Adam Rossenbach; and great-granddaughter, Maci.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline, his parents, and a baby sister.

When were neighbors across the street we had many great conversations with Pauline and Harry. They did us many kind favors from letting us use their trash bins to sending us photographs of the large snowstorm when we were at our house in Florida. May favorite Harry story is when the UPS driver asked Harry if he would receive a package for me. His response: "Sure, he owes me money." Typical of Harry's sense of humor. He will be missed.
