Harry SOPER

Harry Lee Soper, the son of Benjamin and Edith (Fletcher) Soper, was born March 10, 1927, in Leland, Iowa. He passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2008, at Avera Holy Family Health in Estherville, Iowa, at the age of 80 years. He received his education in the Ringsted, Iowa schools. Harry served in the United States Army. Following his honorable discharge from military service he returned to the area to make his home. On April 26, 1957, Harry was united in marriage to Barbara Westerlund at Union Baptist Church in Estherville. The couple made their home in Estherville. Harry was employed as a baker and later as a truck driver for Kent Feeds. In his leisure time he enjoyed fishing. Harry was a member of Grandview Baptist Church and VFW Post 3388 both of Estherville. Grateful for having shared Harry's life are his wife, Barbara of Estherville; his children, Ben Soper of Tacoma, Washington; Evelyn Boles of Pullup, Washington; Dennis Kinton of Chandler, Arizona; David Soper of Estherville; Clarence Soper of Winner, South Dakota; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Darrell Soper of Albert Lea, Minnesota; Roger Soper of Fairmont, Minnesota; and Judith Buck of Estherville. Preceding Harry in death were his parents and brother, Eldon.
