Harvey R. Brown, 98, Rockland, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. He was born on January 7, 1928 to the late Edwin and Elinora (Reschke) Brown. He married Loretta Carter on September 29, 1954 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Glenmore, and together they shared 61 happy years of marriage. He grew up on the family farm, and after serving in the Army, worked for Fort Howard Paper Company until his retirement on 8/8/88, because he liked the sound of that date! Harvey enjoyed fishing, hunting, building and tinkering. Together he and Loretta enjoyed trips to their Lakewood cabin that he built, and Sugarcamp. They liked to play Wheel of Fortune, countless games of Skip-bo or shaking dice, going to the casino, playing and watching golf. He loved spending time with his family. He and Loretta share fond memories of trips to Germany, Las Vegas, and an Alaskan cruise for their 50th Wedding Anniversary. After Loretta’s passing, Harvey looked forward to weekly visits from his granddaughters to keep the Skip-bo rivalry going, and nightly games of Wheel of Fortune with his daughter Bonnie.
