Harvey Fogle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by H.T. May & Sons Funeral Home on Dec. 9, 2025.
Harvey Lee Fogle, 74, of Harrisburg, MO, formerly of Boonville, passed away on Tuesday, December 9, 2025, at Harry S. Truman VA Hospital in Columbia. A private graveside service will be held at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery.

It is with great sorrow that the family of Harvey Lee "Butch" Fogle announces that he went to Heaven on December 9 after a long illness. He was reunited with his mom, Ethel and dad, Clifford, his brothers Ken and Jack, and sister, Mona, who preceded him, and his beloved dogs Molly and Zoe.

Butch leaves his beloved children Jeremy and Talena (husband Dave), Mel (husband Mike) and Vana. He was blessed with grandchildren Gabe, Grant, Shae, Tierra, Brayden, Brena, and Gunner. Known as Dad and Pops and Paw Paw, and Babe, he was generous and loving to his family and friends, who he welcomed into his life and home without condition. Later in his life he met Ann and the two were blessed to love and have each other until the end.

Butch was a man known to speak the truth to everyone whether you liked it or not. He loved to make up stories on how he lost the fingers of his left hand (Navy service related) but sharks and nail biting were also mentioned. His cop days in the wild west days of Boonville were also full of stories many times told. Working at the hospital, he made friends everywhere he went. Butch loved his motorcycles, riding fast and hard with his many friends on trips all over the country. He loved food and had a life-long love of deviled eggs, diet donuts, coffee, and cherry pie. Not a man of fashion, jeans and t-shirts, absolutely no sleeves, were his daily choice. His favorite place was his home in Harrisburg that he was fixing up and his "fat man chair" perfect for sleeping with his devoted dog, Joe.

The family would like to thank the ICU team at the VA hospital for the incredible, loving care they gave Butch, helping him and the family during this very difficult time.

In lieu of a service, the family will have a private burial at the Higginsville military cemetery which was what Butch wanted. There is a Celebration of Life planned for January 31, his birthday, at a location to be announced. We hope all those who knew him will be there.

To honor and remember him, we hope that you will do an unexpected act of kindness for someone in his name. We will love and miss Butch for all our lives.
